For the past eight years, I’ve helped more than 50 businesses make sense of B Corp and understand what the standards mean in practice, from first-time certification through to recertification.

Every business starts from a different place. I help teams understand how their existing work aligns with the standards, where there are opportunities to strengthen things and what a clear, practical route forward could look like.

I like to start with what is already there. That might be policies, ways of working, evidence, commitments or activity that simply has not yet been viewed through a B Corp lens. From there, I help teams focus on what matters most, without creating unnecessary work or assuming there is only one right way to get there.

My background is in environmental science, but my interest has always been broader than one area of sustainability. I’m fascinated by how businesses influence the systems around them, from the way they treat people and make decisions to how they use their voice to advocate for positive change.

At the heart of it, I believe acting like a B Corp is simply common sense. A business owner once said to me, after I’d explained what a B Corp was, “Why would you not do this?” It has stayed with me ever since.

For me, certification matters, but so does what the journey can unlock: clearer thinking, stronger decisions and a more deliberate approach to impact.
