Biography
Some people say becoming a B Corp is a moral journey. But to me, it is also a sensible business journey. Data shows that over the long term, B Corps tend to be more resilient, more attractive to employees, and importantly more profitable.
A key driver is that becoming a B Corp makes you plan long-term – your product offering, your people, your supply chain, your energy sources. To me this feels like the strategic planning that I am so familiar with, as an ‘old school’ senior marketer. But with a triple bottom line focus.
I have marketing experience in a large number of fmcg sectors, including cereals, cakes, snacks, frozen foods, soft drinks, disposable paper, toiletries, household cleaning products, wine and baby. I also have experience in domestic appliances, furniture and entertainment. And as a result, deep experience of UK retailers.
In B Corp world I have worked with agencies, wine companies, breweries, travel companies and content creators.
My aim is to focus on goals, not shortcomings. My favourite saying is “don’t let perfect be the enemy of good”, as chasing perfection allows people to give up, or not even start. Whereas I think everyone should chase progress.
Be a better business. Be the business the world needs.
