A stronger brand, together: making the B Corp brand updates in 2026
Meg Dacey, Brand & Creative Manager, talks through what’s changing and why it matters.
The B Corp movement is growing, and so is the power of the B Corp mark. Today, thousands of businesses around the world use the B Corp logo to show that they’re part of a movement transforming the role of business in society.
That means the way we use our shared brand matters.
In January, we introduced updated B Corp brand guidelines to help us create a clearer and more consistent B Corp brand—one that can continue to build trust as our movement grows.
If you haven’t updated your brand assets yet, 31st August is the deadline to make the changes.
Here’s what you need to know.
Why is the B Corp brand updating?
The B Corp logo is more than a symbol on your website or packaging. It’s a shared signal that connects your business to a global community of aligned businesses. As that community grows, we have an opportunity to make that signal stronger.
The updated guidelines help us create greater consistency in how the B Corp brand appears across the community. When people see the B Corp logo, we want them to recognise it immediately—and understand that it represents something meaningful.
It also helps us respond to a changing world. Consumers, regulators and other stakeholders are increasingly asking businesses to be clearer and more accountable about sustainability claims. By providing additional context alongside the B Corp logo, we can make it easier for people to find out more about what B Corp Certification means.
One B Corp using the mark clearly helps. Thousands of B Corps doing it together make an even stronger signal.
That's why these updates aren't just about your individual brand. They're about all of us.
What do B Corps need to change?
The good news is that you don't need to reinvent your brand. The updated guidance gives you the tools to use the B Corp brand consistently while continuing to express your own brand identity.
One of the key changes is that when you display the B Corp logo, you now need to provide additional context. This can be done by adding the words “Learn more at bcorp.com” alongside the logo, or by linking the B Corp logo to bcorp.com when it’s used digitally.
The second key change is the B Corp taglines. Our famous “business as a force for good” sadly needs to be retired. We know that this will be hard for many B Corps, but in the evolving regulatory environment, it's hard to substantiate how B Corps are using business as a force for good. Instead, when you’re describing your certification, you can say “part of a global movement working to benefit people and the planet”, or that you “meet verified standards for social and environmental business practices.”
Common uses of the B Corp logo and tagline where you’ll need to make sure you’re following the latest guidance are:
Your website
Social media
Email signatures and newsletters
Marketing and campaign materials
Packaging
Presentations
Other digital and printed communications where the B Corp mark appears
The B Corp Brand Book contains everything you need, including the latest assets and a whole host of additional ways to talk about your B Corp certification.
Ready to check your brand?
With 31st August fast approaching, now is the perfect time to give your B Corp brand presence a quick health check. You might be surprised by how many places the B Corp logo appears across your business.
The Brand Health Check on the ‘existing B Corps’ section of the Brand Book makes it easy to work through the key areas and identify anything that still needs updating.
These changes make a big difference to how the B Corp movement is recognised and understood. Because the B Corp brand belongs to all of us. Let's make sure we're showing up clearly, consistently and proudly—together.
