Pip Murray joins B Lab UK board
In April, the founder of Pip & Nut was inducted onto B Lab’s board of trustees for a three year term. Chair of the Board Mary Johnstone-Louis shares more on her appointment.
Earlier this year I was pleased to announce a renewal of B Lab UK’s board, with three new trustees joining us to help us achieve our ambitious goals. At that time, I mentioned that we were continuing to identify board members from the B Corp community who could share their unique experience and perspectives. I’m delighted to announce that Pip Murray is joining us for a three year term.
About Pip
Pip is the Founder of Pip & Nut, an award-winning food brand that launched in January 2015. Over the last eight years, she’s been shaking up the food and drink sector with her range of all-natural, sustainably-minded and, most importantly, delicious nut butters and nut butter cups. Pip & Nut is the fastest growing nut butter brand in the UK and a proud certified B Corporation since 2019. Amongst other accolades, Pip was named in the Evening Standard’s Progress 1000, London’s Most Influential People, Forbes 30 under 30 list and was named ‘Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Natwest Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Pip brings the perspective of a female founder with strong experience with retail, food, and agriculture. Pip & Nut has significant experience thinking seriously about food systems, packaging, and the impact of global supply chains on the ability of business to be a force for good. Pip herself has seen her business grow from market stalls to selling via major retailers, and all of this enables her to bring the perspectives we need on scale and impact around our board table.
Founder and CEO Pip Murray, says of the appointment: “Pip & Nut has been a certified B Corp since 2019 and has directly seen the transformative impact of a triple bottom line business approach. I’m delighted to join the B Lab UK Board to support other businesses on their journey into the community, and work alongside the inspiring B Lab UK team to promote continued growth of an engaged and diverse B Corp movement.
With an impressive 1300+ B Corps now certified in the UK, we've got such an exciting opportunity to take the B Corp community from the margins into the mainstream; and in doing so change the norms within and around the economic systems that help to protect our planet for future generations to come."
The B Corp community remains at the heart of our movement, so it’s critical to hear voices from within as we grow. We look forward to benefiting from Pip’s experience and expertise.
